Zircon is a dense, chemically inert, highly refractory, alluvial sand with low thermal expansion and conductivity coefficients, as well as a high refractive index.

In the form of cut crystal, it is sold in jewellers shops in its natural form known as “Zircon” and in its synthetic form known as “Zirconia”.
